As a marketer, I'm often faced with the task to "make it pop!"
Although this is usually in reference to traditional ads, the same rules apply to the photos we post on social media. I treat an Instagram feed like a magazine layout. You have one opportunity to capture someone's attention so make it pop off the screen.
Here are the top three ways to give your photos the pop they deserve:
Increasing clarity is a sure way to separate your subject from the background. Unlike contrast tools, clarity increases the mid-tones which leaves the highlights unaffected.
Aside from the clarity feature commonly used in Adobe Lightroom, try using Pixlr's Ingrid or Hagrid filter for an easy one click solution.
There's no doubt that photos rich in color pop on any platform. By increasing saturation you enhance the colors that already live within the photo. Just the slightest bump will bring out the pop of color you're looking for. If your photo starts to look too warm (or orange) you can increase the cool tones of the photo which will balance it out and still maintain a vibrant feel.
Lifting shadows is the number one (and my favorite) way to bring a photo to the finish line. This is often my first step to giving a photo life and really see what I'm working with. Bright well-lit photos are my personal favorite and when you lift the shadows at any level you're bringing it one step closer to that aesthetic.
Lightroom and Snapseed have the best tools to lift shadows.
I've tried my fair share of skincare products and even diet regimes in an effort to achieve clear, smooth, and healthy skin. With acne-prone skin like mine, it's extremely difficult to find products that stop breakouts without completely drying out your skin and leaving it looking flaky and brittle.
That's why I am so excited to share my love for FP Skin, the only skincare system that's truly minimized my breakouts while still keeping my skin hydrated and looking youthful.
I used The Daily System which consists of Prep Lactic Acid cleanser, Balance AHA/BHA exfoliant, and Restore anti-aging conditioner. Together these products eliminated all of my inflamed breakouts and reduced the uneven tones that I've struggled with for years. Most of all, it replenished my skin leaving it looking more youthful than ever.
Finding that perfect balance has been a constant search for me. Before finding FP Skin products, I would cover my breakouts with the most drying products I could find. From benzoyl peroxide to Mario Badescu's drying lotion and all that it would result in is dry and peeling skin. Then, in a desperate effort to replenish my skin, I would use heavy creams and serums that would leave my skin oily.
Now, I'm excited to share my favorite breakout solution, the Blemish Fighting Formula aka BFF! BFF is a lightweight mixture of organic essential oils and vitamins that works like total magic. Due to my history of breakouts, I first started using BFF every day. I noticed major improvements in the texture of my skin within the first week and reduced my usage to every other day. Now, I use use BFF once a week to maintain the clear complexion I was able to achive.
If you've struggled to find the perfect balance I highly recommend giving FP Skin a try! I'm so grateful to have the clear skin I've always wanted!
